چکیده
An effective approach to improve the detection efficiency of nanoscale light sources relies on a planar antenna configuration, which beams emitted into narrow cone. Planar antennas operate like optical Yagi-Uda antennas, where reflector and director elements are made metal films. Here we introduce investigate, both theoretically experimentally, scanning implementation antenna. Using small ensemble molecules contained in fluorescent nanobeads placed antenna, independently address intensity, radiation pattern decay rate as function distance between flat-tip gold wire (reflector) thin film coated glass coverslip (director). The changes single bead it cone down angles 45{\deg} (full width at half maximum). Moreover, collected signal compared case is larger than factor 3, mainly due excitation enhancement. These results offer better understanding modification light-matter interaction by they hold promise for applications, such sensing, imaging diagnostics.

متن کاملAngular Radiation Patterns of Nanoantennas: an Optical Yagi-uda Antenna
We address experimentally the radiation patterns of quantum dots coupled to optical nanoantennas at specific positions. We show that the emission of the coupled system is determined by a variety of resonant and non-resonant antenna modes both in polarization and angular pattern. The first working optical Yagi-Uda antenna is presented and unidirectional emission is demonstrated for a limited spe...
متن کاملModified Two-element Yagi-uda Antenna with Tunable Beams
A modified two-element Yagi-Uda antenna with tunable beams in the H-plane (including four significant beams: forward, backward, omni-directional, and bi-directional beams) is presented. These tunable beams are achieved by simply adjusting the short-circuit position of the transmission line connected to the parasitic element. The principle of operation is investigated by examining the current re...
